UPL: Dan Sserunkuma Returns As Vipers Aim At Onduparaka

Vipers will have Mzee Dan Sserunkuma back as they face Onduparaka in a StarTimes Uganda Premier league encounter in Arua.

The striker was rested in a bid to regain his scoring touch – He missed the club’s dominant 3-0 win against Bright Stars at Kitende.

Sserunkuma has been a shadow of himself in the past, last scoring in a 1-1 draw with URA FC in a rescheduled game at Mandela National Stadium on January 25.

However, it’s not yet known whether he will come direct into the starting lineup with Tito Okello, Diego Hamis Kiiza, Abram Ndugwa and Joseph Janjali all in the squad.

The club will miss four of their regular starters – Geoffrey Wasswa and Livingstone Mulondo are still sidelined with injuries while Yayo Lutimba and Moses Waiswa have been dropped, again.

Vipers Seek To Close Gap Atop

Vipers are second on the log with 41 points will look to reduce the gap at the top – The Club are four points below leaders KCCA who play URA FC at Lugogo.

Against Onduparaka FC, Vipers face a difficult task after the Caterpillars managed to return to winning ways with a 2-1 away win against Mbarara City.

Onduparaka have collected 30 points and sit sixth on the log, will seek to revenge after losing the reverse fixture 3-0 in Kitende.

Vipers have not won in Arua in the only two league visits against Onduparaka FC. Shaban Mohammed scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win in 2016 before a goalless draw last season.
