UPL: Shafic Kagimu’s Brace Ends KCCA’s Home Unbeaten Run

Shafic Kagimu grabbed a double as URA FC ended KCCA FC’s home unbeaten run in the league at Lugogo with a 2-1 victory.

The midfielder and URA’s captain Kagimu opened the score sheet in the 25th minute before Timothy Denis Awany levelled matters in the 67th minute from the spot.

Kagimu later grabbed the second and what proved to be the winner for the Tax collectors – A penalty after Joachim Ojera was brought down in the area with ten minutes to spare.

This was Kagimu’s sixth goal of the league this season as he scooped his second brace in a row. He had also scored twice as URA beat up on Kirinya Jinja SS.

KCCA FC remain on top of the summit with 45 points, three above Vipers in second who shared spoils with Onduparaka in Arua.

URA FC are fourth on the table with 35 points, ten below KCCA FC. It should be noted that KCCA FC ended URA’s unbeaten run in the reverse fixture.

This was KCCA FC’s first league loss at Lugogo in 28 games, since falling to SC Vipers 1-2 on April 25, 2017.

Also, KCCA FC had won their last nine games at Lugogo in all competitions.
