Moses Waiswa: Competition For Places On Uganda Cranes Is Stiff

Midfielder Moses Waiswa has said that the competition to get a place on the final team of the Uganda Cranes is very stiff.

Uganda Cranes Coach Sebastien Desabre is expected to name the final nine out of the 31 local based players that will travel to Egypt to train with the foreign based players ahead of the upcoming AFCON qualification game Vs Tanzania later this month.

The team of locally based players have been holding training sessions at Lugogo this week, and will be assessed during the ‘Namutima Regional tour’ game against Kampala Select team on Saturday at Lugogo.

Speaking after Friday’s final training, Waiswa revealed:

“Am looking forward to getting more playing time, a chance to play, so am training towards that.

“There is stiff competition, all new players are good we are all fighting for numbers, and no one is obligated to play.”

Waiswa has had a downward spiral with Vipers this season since he was named the MVP, the player has been receiving negative criticism due to a slump in his form at the club level.

The slicky and soft midfielder said that he will be delighted to make the final nine.

“Its everyone’s dream to be on the National team, and I will be happy if am named on the team to Egypt. Am in good moods as a player.”

It should be noted that the Regional tour game will be free of charge at Lugogo.
