Sulait Makumbi attacked the officiating team aftera league game where hosts Nyamityobora lost 1-0 to Vipers at Kakyeka Stadium on February 5.

The document confirming the ban, dated March 15 2019, seen by SportsNation reads:

The CDP noted that according to the referee, the club’s team manager Sulait Makumbi protested against the Referee’s decisions which as a result, incited fans into entering the field of play.

In the circumstances, this CDP considers the conduct to be within the scope of article 30 (2) of the FUFA competitions Rules and he must therefore be sanctioned for such behaviour.”

In a highly contested game, Nyamityobora felt hard done by the referee who awarded a freekick for a foul which they believed was committed inside the box.

Then, the club was still under Coach Asaph Mwebaze who in his post match interview, also criticised the officials for mishandling the game.

Taking into consideration his improper and his failure to appear and defend himself before the FUFA Disciplinary panel when he was summoned, the CDP suspends Nyamityobora FC’s team manager Makumbi Sulait for four (4) FUFA Competitions matches in which he would otherwise participate and fines him Sh500,000 (Five Hundred Thousand Shillings Only).”

The Abanyakare, playing in the top flight for the first time in the club’s history, are second from the bottom with 16 points after 24 games.
