UPL: SC Villa To Play Another Game Under Floodlights

Matchday 25 match between SC Villa and Mbarara City FC this Wednesday will be played under Namboole floodlights, Uganda Premier League secretariat has confirmed.

This is the second game to be played at night after SC Villa lost 2-1 to kirinya Jinja SS at Namboole.

The development which is intended to attract more fans, especially the working class, among others, has been revealed by UPL CEO Bernard Bainamani.

“M# 195 SC Villa Vs Mbarara City FC match on Wednesday 3rd April 2019 will be a night game and Televised live on Sanyuka TV. Kickoff time is 7:30pm.”

The tie finds Villa and Mbarara at different ends of the table – fourth from either end.

Mbarara are fourth on the log with 41 points, 18 points above record league winners Villa who are fourth from the foot.

The reverse leg of this tie ended 2-1 in favour of the Ankole Lions. Paul Mucureezi and Asuman Alishe scored for Mbarara at Kakyeka, Bashir Mutanda scored for a then Moses Basena managed side.

This will be the fourth meeting between the two teams in the league.
