UPL: Calamitous Kimera Gifts Villa Maximum Points

Mbarara City goalkeeper Ali Kimera will have sleepless nights after his side’s loss to SC Villa in a StarTimes Uganda Premier League game played under floodlights in Namboole.

The shot stopper gifted SC Villa two goals that gave the hosts a 2-1 lead in a highly contested affair.

The former Victors keeper, misplaced a clearance for Albert Mugisa who capitalised on the error to squeeze home the opener.

The visitors fought back to level matters at the start of the second stanza when Ibrahim Orit set Jude Ssemugabi for the latter to direct a shot into the net.

With the game destined for a stalemate – Kimera spilled Orit’s low cross in Ronald Magwali’s way to bundle home what proved to be the winner.

Villa, who benefited from Kimera’s calamitous acts pick their fifth win of the league since under fire Coach Douglas Bamweyana took charge. The side had beaten up on Nyamityobora, Express, Vipers and Paidha.

Villa go to 26 points, six adrift of the dead end as they displace Maroons in 12th place -Both teams have collected the same points.

Next for Villa is a derby game against Express FC.
