UPL: Ssimbwa, Bagoole Named Best Of March

URA’s tactician Sam Ssimbwa and Kirinya Jinja SS midfielder David Bagoole have been named the Pilsner Coach and Player respectively, for the concluded Month of March.

The awards, that aim at recognising the best performers monthly, were held at Kati Kati restaurant in Lugogo, Kampala.

In March, Ssimbwa helped URA collect seven out of a possible nine points – Winning twice (Express and Paidha) and drawing one all against BUL on the road.

The former KCCA FC coach beat Mike Mutebi (KCCA) and Tooro’s Wasswa Bbosa to the gong.

In his brief remarks, he noted that the achievement was long overdue before dedicating the accolade to his sick mother in Butabika Hospital. He also revealed that he will be sharing the prize money with his players and coaching staff.

Bagoole on the other hand, scored two goals in March – one against Nyamityobora and SC Villa – Picking a man of the match performance in the latter.

He edged Nicholas Kasozi (KCCA) and Cromwell Rwothomio (URA).

Together with Sam, Bagoole takes home Sh1M for the achievement.

The Pilsner awards inaugural (October) winners were striker Joel Madondo (Kirinya) and Coach Espinoza Martinez (Vipers). Coach Wasswa Bbosa and Onduparaka’s defender Rashid Toha were February’s best.
