Matchday 27 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League continues on Friday with two interesting games.

All eyes will be in Kitende at St Mary’s Stadium as hosts Vipers take on URA FC in a 2nd Vs 3rd thriller.

Vipers, seven points above URA and six below leaders KCCA have wobbled in the title race after drawing their last two league games – KCCA and Mbarara – And will now have to win if they are to push the title contest to the wire.

URA FC captain Shafic Kagimu

URA FC on the other hand, have managed just a point in their last two games, drawing with Nyamityobora and losing to Bright Stars.

“We have not done well in our last two games, it has been a set back but the war still continues,” said URA coach Sam Ssimbwa who was speaking ahead of Friday’s tussle.

“We have managed to reorganise well though we have some injuries. We want to capitalise on our away record to get a positive result.”

Goalkeepers James Alitho and Nafian Alionzi are doubts. Ronald Kigongo and Charles Ssempa are still sidelined.

“We are going to play our normal game, they have the title pressure, and that will be at our advantage,” added Ssimbwa.

URA FC is the team yet to lose a game on the road this season. They have won four and drawn eight from their 12 away visits.

URA FC will seek this shock the Venoms

It should be noted that last season, URA became the first team to beat Vipers in their own back yard. Henry Kisekka and Shafic Kagimu scored a goal each to cancel out Milton Karisa’s opener.

The reverse fixture ended one all this season – Kagimu gave URA the lead but Dan Sserunkuma levelled matters at the stroke of halftime at Namboole.
