The overall winner gets a ticket to represent Uganda at the continent next year – 2020 CAF Confederations Cup.

This will be the second meeting between these sides this season, after a one all draw in Mwererwe in the league. Brian Kayanja cancelled out Eric Kambale’s opener to deny Express maximum points.

Sim Optimistic

Express FC coach Georg Ssemwogerere said that his team is ready for the encounter and that they have done enough to rectify on their past errors.

“Its a very big game to us,” started Coach Sim. “We have always had an edge when it comes to Uganda Cup that’s why reaching the semifinals should not take us so long, so wining will put us at a certain level so it’s a very big game because it is taking us to the final which will help us win that trophy.”

“We have to handle it with care to see that we can defend well and win it. The boys are in good shape, we are not going there to play but we have to show that we know what we are doing.”

It should be noted that as Ssemwogerere won the Uganda Cup three times as a player. He is also credited to have won it as a coach, though he left for Germany before the campaign ended, a job which coach Kefa Kisala completed.

The Red Eagles will be without Eric Kambale, Isaac Mutanga but its not yet know whether Frank Zaga Tumwesigye returned to training after going AWOL.

In the league, its just two points that separate ninth placed Bright Stars and Express FC who occupy 11th place with 36 points.

Express FC eliminated Paidha (Walk Over), Water, Police FC and BUL FC enroute to the semis. Bright Stars on the hand, expelled Kazo Excel, Bumate, URA FC and Nebbi Central.
