*Betway Power Vs Warriors

Betway Power will be targeting to return to winning ways when they face high flying Warriors in a league game at YMCA court in Wandegeya, Kampala.

The matchup brings together two of the four traditional league giants, and it is surely expected to be a strong affair.

Power have won once, beating KIU Titans 71-60, in their three league games this season – falling to City Oilers and JKL Dolphins.

Betway Power will have to rely on their bench. Power media

Against JKL, Power squandered a lead and its a game they feel that it was actually their’s to win. However, no time for them to cry for spilt milk.

Only Syrus Kiviiri shot double figures, making 24 points, for a team that shot a lowly 17-of-56 from the field.

The side will need to work as a team and the bench will seek to be more useful beside clapping hands and singing defence.

Beside Kiviiri who will be facing his former side, coach Arnold Lando will need extra efforts from Geoffrey Soro, Philip Ameny, Brian Sivachi, Libe Makala and Fahmy Ssebatindira among others.

Warriors on the other hand, come into the game on the back of a big win against JKL and are still yet to taste defeat, beating up on Kampala University and KCCA men.

“Tonight’s game is one against our old time rival,” said Warriors Coach Ronnie Mutebi. “The rivalry between us has stood and will never disappoint so I expect a tough match up from power.”

“They have a large squad, a big bench, good forwards and of course home court advantage. ” We on the other hand come in with desire and hunger.

“Power is very fit and well conditioned so they pose a defensive threat which hope to counter with our explosive plays and perimeter shooting.”

“All in all, we are equally matched so we have to reduce our error margin (27 turnovers in Wednesday’s game) to have a better chance of winning.”

Warriors lost both ties against Power, 68-59 and 82-78, in the regular season, but with the addition of Michael Buzangu, Jonathan Kambala and Chris Omanye, Coach Ronnie Mutebi will have the better armoury to be pay back.
