City Oilers broke no sweat in overcoming Kampala University in one of the league games played on Saturday at YMCA court in Wandegeya.

The defending six time champions made light work of the new comers to win 95-60 in a one way avenue street.

Tonny Drilleba got off gge bench to score a game high 20 points, Ivan Muhwezi (14), Abel Amongin (12), Landry Ndikumana (12) and Steven Omony (11) reached double figures.

Ahmed Kassa (17) and Patrick Seduge (13) combined for half of Kampala University’s points but the effort proved fruitless.

Oilers bullied the side, capitalizing on their size and superiority, to create a 43-36 lead at halftime. The reigning Champions cruised through with 28-15 and 24-9 third and last quarter wins in that order.

Oilers shot 36-of-74 from the field, on a day they will consider as a training routine. Mandy Juruni’s side shot 9/10 on the line and picked 55 rebounds on total against Kampala’s 38.

Oilers go joint top with JKL Dolphins and Warriors who are still unbeaten with four wins. Kampala University, Falcons, Our Saviour and KCCA men are yet to taste victory.

Oilers will return to action against UCU Canons on Sunday. UCU is the other team that is still unbeaten.

The Canons will mostly rely on David Deng Kongoror, Isaiah Mabeny, Fadhil Chuma, Joas Maheta, Titus Lual among others.

In other games:

Brenda Ekone’s 33 was not enough as Chemutai Joy (18) and Judith Ayo Nansobya (15) led KCCA past Nkumba Lady Marines.

Shalom Muwanguzi and Bridget Aber scored 12 points each but YMCA couldn’t avoid a defeat against KIU Rangers.

Samuel Ajack led Ndejje with 22 points in a close win against KCCA men.

Denis Balungu garnered 19 points as KIU Titans destroyed Falcons to return to winning ways.
