Juma Balinya collected his golden boot and Sh1M from Uganda Premier League offices in Namboole on Monday.

The forward, who received a National team call up, bags the accolade after an individual successful campaign that saw him score 19 league goals.

His tally was raced up by an hat-trick he scored against Paidha Black angels plus three braces each against Mbarara City, SC Villa and Onduparaka FC.

He came three goals better than Bright Stars’ fast striker Nelson Ssenkatuka who scored five on the final day to finish with 16 goals.

Last season’s top scorer Dan ‘Mzee’ Sserunkuma (Vipers) managed 12 goals, five less than last season’s tally.

The striker is rumoured to have played his last game for the Peace Keepers in a loss to Mbarara City FC at Kakyeka amidst interest from Wakiso Giants, becomes the sixth Police FC player to win the gong.
