All is set for the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Africa Regional Finals which bowls off in Kampala, Uganda from May 19-24.

Two places to the 2019 ICC T20 qualification tourney in UAE are at stake for the Regional Finals.

The tourney brings together three regional champions and their corresponding runners up – making it six nations in total.

Uganda Cricket Cranes are here after finishing second behind Kenya in the concluded Eastern group Championship – Africa ‘B’ Regional Qualifier.

The side, captained by Roger Mukasa, will start their campaign against old rivals Kenya in what is popularly known as the Migingo derby.

Uganda will be targeting perfect start against Kenya, a side they beat in the final game of the regionals in Rwanda by 7 wickets, though the Kenyan Simbas had already sealed qualification.

“We have been training hard since I came back from Singapore,” noted Mukasa. We have held some games amongst our selves, and am certain that they have polished us to a level requiree. We are good to go.

This will be a tournament that Uganda will use to wash the tears off fans faces whose wounds following a shock relegation from ICC Cricket Div III are still fresh.

Coach Steven Tikolo will be without suspended bowler Irfan Afridi, injured Kenneth Waiswa and dropped Ronak Patel but Riazat Ali Shah who was the MVP in Rwanda will carry the team’s hopes.
