FUBA Monthly Awards: Dikong, JKL Duo Voted April’s Best

NBL April Awards:
*Male Player – David Deng Kongoror (UCU Canons)
*Female Player – Jamila Nansikombi (JKL Lady Dolphins)
*Coach – Henry Malinga (JKL Lady Dolphins)

David ‘Dikong’ Deng Kongoror was selected as the best Male player in the ongoing National Basketball League for the concluded month of April.

The lanky forward ignited UCU Canons’ two wins against Ndejje Angels and Our Saviour. He scored 20 points and 13 rebounds against Walker Obedi’s charges and had 36 points and 7 rebounds Vs Our Saviour. He made two assists each in both games.

He, like the rest of the winners was given a gong and Sh500000 during an halftime break between KIU Titans Vs UCU game on Friday night at Lugogo.

Dikong beat JKL’s Daniel ‘Dudus’ Manoja and Warriors’ new signing Jonathan Kambala. Dudus was superb as JKL won all their four games in April – Our Saviour, KCCA, Kampala University and Power. He notably has 16 points and 12 rebounds against Our Saviour.

Kambala on the other hand, had 8 and 15 points against Kampala University and KCCA Men respectively for Warriors.

Jamila Nansikombi, popularly known as Zama, beat Brenda Ekon (Nkumba Lady Marines) and UCU Lady Canons’ Zainah Lokwameri to the best NBL female player in April.

Henry Malinga completed JKL brace with a gong in coach’s category after helping Lady Dolphins sweep all their four games in April. The side beat rivals KCCA Leopards, UCU Lady Canons, A1 Challenge and Nkumba Lady Marines in convincing fashions.
