City Oilers made light work of Sharing Youth to register a commanding 89-54 win in a National Basketball League encounter played at KIU Court in Kansanga, Kampala.

There was never going to be a contest as Oilers broke to a 48-24 halftime lead before holding on to seal their fifth league win from eight attempts.

This sees the six time league champions return to winning ways after three consecutive losses against UCU (82-90), Warriors (66-68) and JKL (66-67).

Landry Ndikumana garnered a game high 17 points from 7-9 shooting on the field. Ivan Muhwezi (12), Jimmy Enabu (11), Francis Chisioke (16) and Daniel Juuko reached double figures with the later coming off the bench. Oilers also had Jonathan Egau return to the side after along lay off with injured fingers.

Sam Gombya had 14 points and as many rebounds for the Nsambya based team that shot an ugly 17-65 from the field including 1-22 from three.

Next for Mandy Juruni’s charges is Ndejje University Angels on May 24 before Our Saviour on May 26.


In other men’s game, Francis Mbuyi switched on beast mode to score 21 points and 26 rebounds as KCCA Men picked their first win against Our Saviour.

Ahmed Kassa and Patrick Seduge had 20 points each for Kampala University but the tally wasn’t enough to stop Ndejje University Angels.
