Magogo Speaks Out As FUFA Receive Sh4.7Bn From Government

Its all smiles for the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA).

The football governing body in the country has confirmed receipt of Sh4.7bn from the government.

The package is to specifically fine tune the National senior men’s Football team ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations set in Egypt in June/July.

“I thank HE President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports Mama Janet Museveni, Ministry of Finance, Minister of State for Sports Hon. Charles Bakkabulindi, National Council of Sports and various Government organs for playing a key role in the release of the funds” said FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo in a statement posted on FUFA website.

“We are glad to receive this timely support from Government as two National teams are already in camp preparing for international tournaments due next month,” added Magogo.

The financial support finds Uganda Cranes Squads in two separate camps – One preparing for the AFCON Finals in Egypt while the other preparing for COSAFA Tournament in South Africa.

The Sh4.7bn brings a total of Sh9.47bn received by FUFA from the government for fge financial year 2018/19.

This comes at the back of recent outcries from other federations, mainly Uganda Boxing Federation led by Moses Muhangi, about the little funding they get from National Council of Sports.
