*UCU Canons Vs Betway Power – 8:30 PM

David ‘Dikong’ Deng is expected to play the main role when UCU Canons face off with Betway Power at YMCA court in Wandegeya, Kampala.

Dikong was rested in UCU’s last two games in the first round – Vs Kampala University and Falcons – in preparation for this crucial match.

The South Sudanese is averaging 18 points so far and is expected to haunt Power again after helping the Canons beat these opponents 71-68 in the first round.

Nicholas Natuhereza’s side has been unstoppable in the first round and they come into Friday matchup on top of the log with 10 wins from 11 games. Power on the other hand have won seven and lost four.

UCU have proved to be a shooting team and Power will face a big mountain to climb on Friday night. Everyone on the team, led by Isaiah Mabeny Ater, can hurt you regardless of the distance, and Jerry Kayanga has also proved to be a great shooter of recent.

Jerry Kayanga, despite starting once from six league games, is shooting 44% from beyond the arc. UCU is showing everyone how its done from deep.

“We lost by a small game but this season our goal is championship,” said Power’s assistant coach Boniface Okello. “The first round was not bad. We are trying to fix a few things here and there so we expect lows and high.”

“Its going to be tough but whoever executes well in offense, plays very good defense will have an edge. We have to rebound well and discipline will be key. Its going to be interesting.”

Boniface Okello, and head coach Arnold Lando Mchuda will seek the best from his side, but mainly his starters like Joseph Ikong, Phillip Ameny, Syrus Kiviiri and Libe Makala, will have to show up.
