Jackson Mayanja Snubs Mbarara City, Set For Tanzania Return

The negotiations between Coach Jackson Mayanja and Mbarara City have reportedly hit a dead end, the-SportsNation has learnt.

Mayanja who just helped Kyetume FC achieve promotion, had his short contract expire and consequently refused to renew it.

He was recently approached by Mbarara City to fill Livingston Mbabazi’s void who returned to Onduparaka FC.

However, the-SportsNation sources claims that the former KCCA FC asked a hefty price which is estimated to be Sh40M to join the Ankole lions which Hon Mwine Mpaka refused to dish out.

Mbarara City FC are now reportedly appointing a foreign coach, awaiting an announcement this week or so.

Mayanja is expected to return to Tanzania with all odds in favour of Kinondoni Municipal Council FC. The new TZ football club is based in Dar es salaam and among the six clubs that were promoted to the country’s premier league in 2018.

Mayanja, born in Mukono but brought up in Nsambya, played his active football KCCA FC and had stints with Al Masry (Egypt) and Esperance (Tunisia).

He coached Lyatonde (URA FC now), Bunamwaya (SC Vipers), Simba SC in Tanzania among others.
