Kenya came twice from behind to edge neighbours Tanzania in a five goal thriller.

Simon Msuva tapped in to set the tone for the Taifa Stars but Olunga levelled matters. Mbwana Samatta scored for Tanzania to take a 2-1 lead at the break.

Johanna Omollo equalised before Olunga, who plies his trade with Japan’s Kashiwa Reysol bundled home to revive Kenya’s qualification to Round of 16 hopes.

Earlier in group C, Algeria had edged Senegal to reach last 16 thanks to Youcef Belaili’s strike.

Kenya will face Senegal in a do or die match while Algeria will face Tanzania on Monday.

In the first game of the day, Marco Ilaimaharitra scored from a free-kick to give Madagascar a slim 1-0 victory over Burundi, their first Africa Cup of Nations win.
