Ivan Kiweewa, commonly known as Kaloolo in the football circles because of his minute size, has been named as the 2018/19 Wakiso Giants Player of the season.
The attacking midfielder beat Centre back Hassan Wasswa Dazo by a landslide victory where he was voted for by fellow players, club officials and stakeholders in a luncheon held on Sunday at Grand Imperial hotel.
Shot stopper Ivan Mutumba finished third.
Kiweewa took home a 55 inch flat screen, Dazo and Mutumba were promised a 42 inch flat TV and Sh500,000 respectively by club President Musa Ssebulime Atagenda.
Kiweewa, a product of Jogoo Young, played for SC Villa, Saints and Bandari (Kenya) before joining the purple sharks.
He scored six goals and made as many assists in a fruitful campaign that saw Wakiso Giants make light work of Big league to storm the top flight on first asking.
He notably scored as Wakiso picked their first win in Big League – when they beat Kataka FC 3-0 in November last year.
He scored in a 2-0 away win against Nebbi Central but most importantly, he scored the winner against Entebbe before the hour mark for the Giants to seal a 2-1 win and Confirm their Premier League status.
