(25-13, 25-21, 25-22)

Nkumba University Women Volleyball Club (NUVC) successfully defended the 21st edition of the Rwanda Genocide Memorial Volleyball title.

The Entebbe based side eased past home side Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) by three straight sets in the final played at Amahora indoor Stadium in Kigali, Rwanda.

Nkumba came into the tourney as favourites after winning the 2018 edition 3-1 when they beat Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB).

Uganda had seven representatives at the championship where over one million people who died in Genocide are remembered.

UTB won the men’s title, thrashing REG VC 3-2 (25-15, 21-25, 19-25, 25-10, 15-13).

The Uganda representatives will return in the country to fine tune for the league before the NSSF-KAVC international tourney serves on August 2-4 this year in Lugogo.
