Official: Former Express, Mbarara City Coach Joins Tooro United

In preparations for the Startimes Uganda Premier League 2019/20 season, Tooro United have beefed up their coaching staff.

The Fortal Portal based team has confirmed the appointment of Goalkeeping coach Samuel Kawalya.

Kawalya replaces Abu kigenyi who took over the role on 24th September 2018 as the team was on a refurbish, Tooro United confirmed the development via their official Facebook page.

Kawalya joins Tooro United with some experience having worked with Mbarara City FC and Express FC. He is also a former Uganda Cranes shotstopper.

He will work with head coach Wasswa Bbosa who recently renewed a one year contract.

This, is the latest development from Tooro United who has so far had a busy transfer window ahead of the league season which is expected to kick off on September this year.

It should be noted that the Tooro United announced Spelito Ssesanga as a co-owner after buying 49% shares in the club.

Tooro has so far added four players – Derrick Tekkwo, Water FC duo Denis Mugerwa and Lule Gerrard, and Charles Musiige (Nyamityobora).

Tmothy Musingiizi, Meddie Kibirige and Mike Kawooya have reportedly renewed their contracts at Tooro.

Eddie Ruhweza, Moses Kirumira, Godfrey Lwesibawa, Mahad Yaya Kakooza and Allan Kayiwa have left the club.

The club, finished fourth with 49 points during the concluded season and will be aiming for a better place come the 2019/20 season which is expected to kickoff in September.
