Netball World Cup: Dissatisfied She Cranes Paid Sh5M Only

National netball team, the She Cranes, will leave for the Netball World Cup unhappy after the Federation failed to fulfil their promises.

The side, demanding an estimated Sh29M, have been given Sh5M, this website has learnt.

“They only gave us Sh5M,” confirmed a player who preferred anonymity. “That the balance will be wired into our accounts when we reach England.”

“So, our total allowance is going to be Sh10M for the World Cup. Am certain this might affect our performance and all I can say is that we are not happy at all.”

The team that was flagged off on Thursday by the First lady Janet Kataaha Museveni at Nakasero, is expected to leave for United Kingdom on Friday at 4PM aboard Emirates Airlines.

The team of 21 will be accommodated at the Holiday Express Inn, reliable sources have told this website.

Uganda will face hosts England on Friday, June 12th at the Echo Arena (M&S) before Scotland and Samoa.

It should be remembered that the She Cranes who are ranked sixth, finished eighth overall at the 2015 World Cup in Australia.
