Official: Desabre, Uganda Terminate Contract

Sebastien Desabre and FUFA have agreed to mutually terminate their contract, its is now official.

The development comes less than 24 hours after Uganda Cranes were knocked out of the Africa Cup of Nations by Senegal at the round of 16.

“On the 6th of July 2019, both FUFA and National Team Head coach of the Uganda Cranes Mr. Desabre Sebastien Serge Louis mutually agreed to terminate the contract between the two parties,” reads a statement in part, on the FUFA website.

The reasons for termination of the employment contract remains scanty.

Desabre has been manager of the Ugandan national team, The Cranes, since December 28, 2017.

The Frenchman, replaced Milutin Sredojevic (‘Micho’), who left in July 2017 to become coach of the Orlando Pirates Football Club in South Africa.

Moses Basena was in charge on interim basis from 31st July, 2017 when Micho resigned till December, 2017.

Desabre had signed a 3 year contract with FUFA to handle the Uganda Cranes. He was coaching Egyptian Club Ismaily before coming to Uganda.
