Tuesday, July 9
*KCCA FC 1-0 Azam FC
*Mukura 2-2 Bandari FC
Uganda’s representative at the ongoing CECAFA Kagame cup, KCCA FC, managed to earn maximum points in Group B.
The club’s soccer academy graduate Sadat Anaku scored the all important goal as the Kasasiro boys won their first win in Group B.
“It feels good scoring my first goal for the senior team at such a big stage,” noted Anaku. “There is much trust in me by the coaches despite having a number of senior strikers and I believe I have paid back.”
Club coach Mike Mutebi handed other academy graduates Musa Ramaghan and Samuel Kato their debut on the day, in their starting lineups.
Despite losing Saddam Juma to injury who was replaced by Nicholas Kasozi in the 19th minute, KCCA continued pushing.
Anaku knocked on the door on various occassions before putting KCCA in the lead – The youngster headed Mustafa Kizza’s cross over the bar and later had his header rattle the crossbar.
KCCA now lead Group B with 4 points out of the two games played and will be playing Mukura on the July 12 who drew 2-2 against third placed Bandari.
