Gor Mahia Terminates Ssekisambu’s Contract

Kenyan Premier League side Gor Mahia has confirmed the release of Uganda’s attacking midfielder Erisa Keith Ssekisambu.

Seki, as commonly known by friends, had signed a two year contact with Gor on October 31, last year.

However, he has been offloaded after failing to impress at the a highly demanding club.

The club has also parted ways with other three players – goalkeeper Shaban Odhoji, defender Pascal Ogweno, Midfielders Cercidy Okeyo and Castro Ogendo.

Gor, currently in Rwanda for CECAFA Kagame Cup, confirmed the departure of Jacques Tuyisenge to Petro Atletico de Luanda (Angola) while Francis Kahata leaves as a free agent.

This leaves Shafic Batambuze as the only Ugandan player at Gor Mahia.

The club has consequently signed six players; Denis Oalo, Tobias Otieno, Ronack Elvis, Dickson Ambundo, Curtis Wekesa and David Mapigano.

Ssekisambu – The Brief

Ssekisambu started his professional career at SC Villa in 2011. He later joined Express where he made his debut on February 22nd 2012 against Water FC.

He moved to URA in June 2012 before returning to SC Villa. He later transferred to Vipers on July 2015, Ssekisambu joined Vipers.

He is much remembered by Vipers fans for that goal against Nigeria’s Enyimba FC in the CAF Champions League qualifiers in 2016.
