Leopards Confirm Release Of Former Express FC Striker

Kenyan Premier League side AFC Leopards have confirmed release of Ugandan striker Ivan Sekazza.

He is among the eight players that have left the club, Leopards have confirmed via their social media account.

Ssekaza, an academy graduate of Qatar based Aspire, had joined Leopards in March 2019 where he signed a one year contract from Mwandui (Tanzania).

He featured for Express FC before joining KPL side Western Stima in 2015. He later signed for Sudanese side Al Ahly Shendi before joining Tanzania’s Mwandui in 2018.

Other released players include Wayi Yeka and Eric Ndayishimiye. Aziz Okaka, Paul Were and David Ochieng had their contracts not renewed. Marcel Kaheza’s loan terminated while Shami Kibwama had his loan come to an end.

Sekazza, a last born in the family of nine, started his football career with different academies in Uganda – started off at Kawempe Youth Football Association (Kayofa) and later Jogoo young.

He earned a slot at the Aspire Academy in Qatar. He joined the list of other 20 players who were awarded a five-year scholarship by the Qatar based outfit.
