Kyanjuki Primary Schools dominated the 2019 Mini Cricket festival by winning two of the four categories.

The tournament which attracted fewer teams as compared to the past events, took place at Lugogo Cricket oval where Primary schools competed in U11 and U13 boys and girls categories.

The Kasese based school, from the Rwenzori region, scooped gold in U13 boys and girls category.

The colourful event is organized by Uganda Cricket Association every year where schools first compete from district level to regionals before qualifying to the nationals at Lugogo.

The event was chaired by new UCA operations manager John Trust Mayeku who commended the pupils’ participation and love for Cricket.

St Edward and Balamoli Primary schools were the other winners, and took home new playing kits courtesy of Bankstown (Australia).

On a sad note, St Agnes P/S failed to make it to Lugogo after a terrible accident in Entebbe, with reports claiming that their coaster collided with another vehicle, leaving many pupils injured.
