CECAFA: Mutebi Commends His ‘Smart’ Players In Victory Against Rayon Sports

KCCA FC sealed their semifinals berth at the ongoing 2019 CECAFA Kagame club tournament with a 2-1 win over Rwanda’s Rayon sports.

Goals from Mustafa Kizza and Jackson Nunda in the 33rd and 66th respectively, gave the Garbage collectors a win.

Rwanda’s Herve Rugwiri had leveled matters for Rayon Sports at the start of second half.

KCCA FC tactician Mike Hilary Mutebi believes his boys have grown tactically and hopes for a much better performance in the semi-finals.

“We played against a team that came to stop us play but eventually they gave in, we used the ball very well but lacked efficiency in the final third, a good game to the fans,” Mutebi remarked in a post match interview.

“There were so many tactical changes in the game thanks to my smart players who mastered this earlier.

“We shall do much better in the semi-finals.

When asked about his Academy graduate’s the tactican sounded optimistic of their future.

“These players have no pressure and know what to do. As you can see most of our team players have come from the academy, they are young and intelligent as far as football is concerned.

“This tournament is a precursor for we who are going to play on the Continent so we definitely want to win.”

KCCA beat Azam and Mukura, drew with Bandari FC to top their group. The side will now face winner between Gor Mahia and Green Eagles who play on Wednesday in the other quarter finals.
