Mike Mutebi: I Believe in Young Lads

Uganda’s representative at the ongoing Cecafa Kagame cup in Rwanda KCCA FC stormed finals for the first time since 1978.

Allan Okello’s brace proved not enough after normal time, but the boys did enough in extra time to cross the line.

KCCA FC manager Mike Hilary Mutebi noted that his belief in a young squad has played a big part for the team’s impressive run at the ongoing CECAFA.

“I kept believing in my boys despite Green Eagles leading until the 79th minute. They stood firm and won perfectly with no panics and I believe that this belief is needed in the final,” coach Mutebi told the press.

Mike mutyaba’s 98 minute strike and youngster Sadat Anaku’s goal in the extra time ensured KCCA FC reach this year’s final.

It should be remembered that KCCA FC promoted Sadat Anaku, Hassan Jurua, Kafumbe Joseph, Kato Samuel, Musa Ramathan and Kizza Joseph Bukenya to the senior team.

When asked about the promoted lads, Mutebi was confident and positive.

“We have prepared the boys well for 3 to 4 years and it’s not a surprise to me. I believed in them and I believe more is yet to come.”

KCCA FC will face defending champions Azam FC who edged AS Maniema 5-4 in the shootouts.
