*Losers: AS Maniema 0-2 Green Eagles

KCCA FC coach Mike Mutebi has commended his players for the efforts after the side clinched the 2019 CECAFA Kagame Cup.

KCCA FC beat Azam FC 1-0 thanks to Mustafa Kizza’s 62nd minute strike in a pulsating affair played at Kigali Stadium, Nyamirambo.

“The boys came here with belief that they wanted to win this tournament and indeed they have fulfilled it,” noted coach Mutebi.

“The performance was generally better in terms of play, confidence, and how they consumed pressure from the opposition was out standing.

“At the bottom line they had a very good tournament and the performance was above average.”

The garbage collectors, littered with youngsters, leaves the tourney with no loss. They beat Azam and Mukura and drew against Kenya’s Bandari to lead their group. KCCA FC then ousted Rayon Sports and Green Eagles at quarter and semis.

KCCA FC clinch the title for the first time since 1978, breaking a 41-year jinx.
