Netball: She Cranes Return, Set To Meet First Lady

Uganda’s netball team, the She Cranes, have returned from the recently concluded 2019 Netball World Cup in England.

The team arrived on Tuesday at Entebbe International Airport via Emirates Airlines at 2PM and were received by NCS’ Assistant General Secretary David Katende and Netball Vice President William Bwambale.

All She Cranes players have returned except Captain Peace Proscovia who will be reporting back to her club Sunshine Coast in Australia.

The team delegation was headed by NCS’ Dr. Patrick Ogwel.

The She Cranes is set to meet First Lady Janet Kataha Museveni at Nakasero’s state house.

Uganda finished 7th, their best finish ever at a World Cup stage. The side occupied 8th and 13th in 2015 and 1979 World Cup.

It should be remembered that the First Lady flagged off the She Cranes before heading to Liverpool. It is expected that the players will be given more allowances and bonuses as a sign of appreciation.
