Uganda’ fast-rising heavy weight professional boxer Shafique Kiwanuka has promised not to disappoint his fans when he faces Congolese fighter Mbikayi Tyson in a non title contest this Friday at Lugogo sports Arena.

Kiwanuka who will be making his second professional fight told the press during the weigh-in exercise at Bukasa that he is in good shape and ready to take on Mbikayi.

“I am mentally and physically fit because I have been feeding and training well,” stated Kiwanuka who knocked out Kenya’s David Kamara in his first professional fight early this year.

Mbikayi flanked by his trainer Anthony Mwamba vowed to put up a spirited fight saying he didnt fly all the way from Congo to lose against Kiwanuka.

“I don’t know much about my Ugandan opponent but just know am not here for comedy,” noted Mbikayi whose fight record stands at 8 fights with 7 wins and one draw.

Kiwanuka who is under the management of Great Strikers International and trained by Olympic medalist Abdul Tebazalwa weighed 97kg while Mbikayi was 110kg.

In the undercards: Latib Muwonge will face Sadam Mukasa in the Junior welterweight bout as Sageant Aldina Muzeeyi of UPDF takes on corporal Ben Sajabi of Police in a feather weight contest.

Saul Male will face Ondongo Seletino (middle weigh), Hudson Muhumuza will take on Kagwa Isaac in heavy weight fight whereas Mercy Akyayo will face Sharon Kyomukama in the superfly ladies fight.
