Super Eight: Coach Golola Impressed With Performance

The newly appointed coach of Viper SC, Edward Golola has said that he is impressed by the performance exhibited by his team in their first game of the pilsner super 8 against Proline FC today at Startimes stadium Lugogo.

Vipers, through Denis Mwebeze in 24th minute, beat Proline 1-0 to advance to the semi finals of the tournament.

“Am happy with the boys, I think they have played under instructions, they managed to show discipline and character,” Gololo noted after the match.

“We will go back to the drawing board to rectify on mistakes like poor ball control and transition as they have been the few mistakes we made.”

The victory was the first for Golola since his official appointment as the Vipers coach. He replaced Nam Ouma Michael.

Vipers players join Mwemezi (16) in celebrations.

The Venoms missed some players who are with the national team – Paul Willa, Allan Kayiwa, Tom Masiko and Dan Mzee Sserunkuma but Golola noted that ge had enough armoury to see him through the tie.

The tactician commended some of his debutants like Dennis Mwemezi and Karim Watambala, the latter being named man of the match.

This is the second edition of the tournament, initiated by FUFA last year and KCCA FC are the defending champions.
