Speaking to the press and the kick boxing fraternity after the weigh ins, Semata set the tone:
“Golola is an old lion,” started Semata. “He is just waiting on the well with worn out teeth, many scars and tattered ears.”
“Am am a youthful Lion, a real fighter and and a hunter. I have passed through a lot, received all the challenges the ring can offer. Am just ready to beat him again.”
This will be a rematch after Semata beat Golola last year at the same venue – He became the first Ugandan to beat Golola.
The brawl, branded ‘Century fight’, will be officiated by veteran referee Charles Mugoya as the two lions battle out in a K1 style.
The fight has also been highlighted by the two promoters, each at either camp – Abbey ‘Abitex’ Musinguzi is in Golola’ red corner while Balaam ‘Ssabavulu’ Byarugahare is in Semata’s blue corner.
Semata, born 1988, recently claimed that he had his attacking strategy change after getting another sponsor on board.
“I have been training for like two months in preparations for this fight. Am very ready.
“My strategy was to prolong this fight up to the fifth round but I have a new sponsor who want me to finish Golola in the first round with a prize of a car in waiting.”
It should be remembered that Golola came to prominence in 2011 when he beat South Sudan’s Abdul Qadir Rahim.
He is mostly remembered to flooring Titus Tugume in the shortest time ever recorded in Uganda. He also eased past Abu Kikenwa among other wins.
