CHAN: We Want Fans To Go Back Home Smiling – Saddam Juma

Uganda Cranes midfielder Ibrahim Saddam Juma says that his side will turn on a good display when they face Somalia.

Uganda will play host to Somalia in the return leg, in the 2020 CHAN Qualifiers this Saturday at StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo.

Juma, who plies his trade with KCCA FC, says that Uganda who won 3-1 in the first leg played in Djibouti will however not take their opponents for granted.

“Football is played 90 minutes,” started Juma after Cranes training on Thursday. “We do not expect anything other than a win.”

“We will not undermine Somalia, they put up a good performance in Djibouti, they were hard and tough. We will put pressure on them and the crowd will be behind us and we hope to win with a good display so as everyone go back home smiling.

“We are going to handle them the same way we did in Djibouti, there is nothing like advantage and we will try to entertain the crowd.”

Uganda will, however, be without Timothy Awany and Taddeo Lwanga but Juma believes that there will be no pressure as they have enough firepower to go all the way.

If this comes to pass, Uganda will face winner between South Sudan or Burundi – The latter won the first leg 2-0 in Bujumbura. The return leg is on Sunday, August 4, at Lugogo.

On who he prefers to face, Juma explained:

“South Sudan shocked us in the U23 side, Burundi are improving and they were in the AFCON so whoever comes we will be ready.”

The Cranes who started training on Tuesday at Lugogo will seek be seeking to return to CHAN for a fifth consecutive time.
