KCCA FC Clarifies on Future Of Okello, Mustafa

About six Uganda players have already secured their deals to play abroad, its no longer a secret.

With the transfer window closing down, there is growing concern on whether KCCA young duo Allan Okello and Mustafa Kiiza will be playing from.

Okello and Mustafa had trials in Europe last May, but its not yet known whether the two did enough to convince the selectors to make the final cut.

Ugandan players and trials; the two have been mentioned in the same sentence but the line has included ‘failed’ somewhere at or towards the end.

Okello and Mustafa had trials in Zurich (Switzerland) and Rayo Valladolid (Spain) respectively.

“Our club is just waiting for a response from the other European clubs and if anything good comes through, we will call the players, their parents and agents and we discuss the best way forward,” KCCA FC chairman Aggrey Ashaba said on Sunday while appearing on 88.8 CBS FM in a ‘entabiro ye Byemizanyo’ popular sports show hosted by Bagala Peace Diane.

“What we can say now is that Mustafa and Okello are still KCCA FC players, but we can’t keep them if a good offer comes up because we want the best for them and their future.

“Selling players abroad paints a good image for our club and also opens doors for the rest of local players here for the outside markets.”

There have been many theories since Okello and Mustafa returned from trials, with many saying that they failed, which has been the case for almost every Ugandan player.

The Chairman added that the club will add about three players before the season starts in a bid to have a good team that will compete as required.

With Awany on his way out, KCCA FC has already confirmed the addition of Simon Sserunkuma and Erisa Ssekisambu.

John Revita and Henry Katongole are the other players on the club radar, with latest developments having it that the former has already signed for the club, awaiting an official announcement.
