CAF Champions League: Kyambadde Out As KCCA FC Reveal Squad

Allan Kyambadde has been left out of KCCA FC squad that will be travelling to Namibia for CAF Champions league preliminary encounter against African Stars.

The midfielder is rumoured to be set to exit KCCA FC ahead of a proposed move outside Uganda.

The player also missed the team’s photo shoot session held on Tuesday morning at Lugogo.

With an official statement yet to be issued out concerning Kyambadde’s situation, other sources have claimed that the player is sick!

However, he played for Uganda Cranes in CHAN qualifiers on Saturday against Somalia.

He was part of Uganda’s impressive run in AFCON that saw the team reach knockout stages for the first time since 1978.

Timothy Awany is the other player who misses out – The centre back is expected to be announced as Ashdod FC’s new signing.

Nicholas Kasozi, and academy graduates Samuel Kato and Sadat Anaku have been included and will be making their debut appearance on the continent.

None of the three new signings – John Revita, Erisa Ssekisambu and Simon Sserunkuma – have been included.

The team departs for Namibia aboard Rwanda air on Wednesday morning at 0650hrs through Kigali, Johannesburg and finally Windhoek Namibia at 2100hrs, KCCA confined via their official website.

The first leg is on Saturday 10th August 2019 at Sam Nujoma Stadium, Windhoek before the return leg on Friday 23rd August 2019 at StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.

The squad

Goalkeepers – Charles Lukwago and Jamil Maliyamungu

Defenders – Peter Magambo, Ssenjobe Eric, Kato Samuel, Fillbert Obenchan, Kizza Mustafa, Achai Herbert, Musana Hassan.

Midfielders – Bukenya Lawrence, Muzamiru Mutyaba, Sadam Juma, Gift Ali Abubakar, Kasozi Nicholas.

Forwards – Sadat Anaku, Okello Allan, Mike Mutyaba and Kaddu Patrick.
