Malawian club Masters Security FC have failed to jet in the country ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup with Proline FC.

The first leg of the tie is set for this Saturday at StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo.

The team was supposed to jet in Uganda at 12:55AM but was no where to be seen by the eagerly waiting Proline Officials.

Details for their failure to arrive in Uganda are not yet established.

Proline had booked for the team at Silver springs Hotel ahead of the first leg.

Financial Struggles

Reports in Malawi have revealed that the club has been soliciting for financial assistance in a bid to make the trip.

Masters Security FC owner, Alfred Gangata, had called for support from the football federation and government to enable his side travel.

“I have done my part and need assistance from the government, Super League of Malawi (Sulom) and Football Association of Malawi (Fam) as we are representing the nation,” reads a quote in one of the local publications in Malawi, from Gangata.

Weeks back, Masters Security players boycotted training sessions and a Super League match against Mzuni FC in protest over unpaid dues.
