*Proline FC 3-0 Masters Security
Ivan Bogere bagged a hat-trick as Proline FC had a dream start on their continental debut.
Proline FC pummeled Malawi’s Masters Security 3-0 in a CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round qualifier at StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo.
Bogere was freed by captain Noordin Bunjo before he beat Chimwemwe Kunkwawa in goal to slot home into an empty net in the 17th minute.
He doubled the advantage in the 56th minute when he tapped in from Ibrahim Ssendi’s low cross. He later grabbed his hat-trick when he squeezed the ball past an onrushing keeper to send the fans into wild celebrations.
Dominant Proline FC
In their first game on the continent, Shafic Bisaso’s charges did not show any nerves as they dominated play and created chances when building from the back. And the side could have scored more.
Hat-trick hero Bogere had a keeper to beat after running after Bunjo’s through ball but shot direct at the keeper.
Wamanah’s header was also easily collected by the keeper off Anukani:s chipped delivery, while Yusuf Mukisa also shot over the bar from close range after a good Anukani delivery.
Kiwanuka had a shot deflected and had his other chance rattle into the side net when he cut inside from the left flank. Bunjo also went for power to fire off and far wide.
Proline FC will seek to finish off the business in the return leg on August 23.
If this comes to pass, Proline FC will face winner between AS Kigali (Rwanda) and KMC (Tanzania).
