KCCA Leopards handed JKL Lady Dolphins their second loss of the season with a 56-50 laboured victory in a game played at the Indoor Arena in Lugogo.

The Leopards led 26-21 at the long break but JKL reduced the deficit by just a point going into the last quarter before Ali Mavita’s troops held on to win the last quarter 13-11 and seal their win.

KCCA Leopards shot poorly – 19 of 74 from the field, but were 77% on the free throw line, and out rebounded JKL 59-50 and fetched more points on the bench (26-21).

KCCA Leopards have lost twice just like JKL

Martha Soigi garnered a game high 14 points, Leane Nalunkuma added 13 points while Alicia Wasagali contributed 10 rebounds in the victory.

Hope Akello (11) and Rita Imanishimwe (10) were the only JKL players to score in double figures on a quiet day they will look to forget.

This was JKL’s second loss, their first came against A1 Challenge 48-49 on July 17.

In brief, JKL has played 17 games and won 15, they will face MUK Sparks in their last regular season fixture.

KCCA Leopards who have also two games (first against JKL 49-70 on April 12 and last against UCU), have played 16 games and won 14. KCCA will face YMCA and UMU ravens in their last games and can top the group on a superior point difference if they can win those last two games on a commendable margin or if JKL fails to beat MUK.
