Ondupakara FC assistant coach Sadiq Ssempigi says that his side missed many chances and the loss to KCCA FC was hence inevitable.

The Caterpillars lost a chance to return to the FUFA Pilsner Super Eight finals following their 3-1 loss to KCCA FC on Friday at StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.

Allan okello’s brace and Musa Ramathan’s early opener dented Onduparaka who had Bheto Bashir on target.

While addressing the media at a post match conference, Ssempigi said that his side didn’t play as they had planned and the opponents were able to capitalize on the mistakes.

“There were some mistakes we made,” Ssempigi started. “We didn’t utilize our chances, we had many chances on the goal but we couldn’t finish them well.”

“We had planed to manage their style of play but slightly we gave out the game, we failed to defend well, we lacked compactness and never possessed the ball better, and we were too slow. Our goalkeeper failed to manage the ball well in most cases and our opponents capitalised on such mistakes.”

“We are going back and revise, rectify our mistakes and by the start of the season we will be set and good to go. We hope by the start of the league we will be having a good team.”

Onduparaka will play Mbarara City FC in 3/4 placement game and KCCA FC will meet vipers SC in finals.
