Super Eight: Onduparaka To Pick Positives From Blurred Campaign

Onduparaka Fc assistant coach sadiq Ssempigi says that his team will take positives from the Pilsner Super Eight campaign to build on ahead of the new football season.

Onduparaka FC finished fourth after suffering a 2-0 loss to Mbarara City FC in a classification game played at Wakissha.

The side has played three games in the preseason Super 8 tournament, they beat Tooro United in shootouts and lost to KCCA FC 3-1 in the other two games.

“The competition has given us good preparation for the new season ahead because we have played almost big teams in the league,” Ssempigi said after the game at Wakissha.

“We still have time to build and improve for the upcoming season. We are being surrounded with new players we groomed.

“There is progress with players performance who are quickly adapting to the coach’s philosophy.”

Onduparaka FC will play their Startimes Uganda Premier League opener against Police FC on August 30 at the Luzira play ground.

Last season, the Arua based team finished sixth with 45 points. The side won 12 games, lost nine and drew as many.

This promises to be a long season for the Caterpillars who have lost some of their best players in captain Rashid Toha and Gaddafi Gadinho among others.
