KCCA FC have acquired Nigerian striker John Odumegwu, The-SportsNation.com sources can confirm.
Odumegwu becomes the second Nigerian to play for KCCA FC after Richard Akinyemi. He has put pen to paper on Tuesday at Lugogo, a source has confirmed.
Odumegwu impressed KCCA FC coach Mike Mutebi in both legs of the 2017 CAF Confederation cup when the side played Rivers United, and he has been on KCCA radar since.
The striker provided a beautiful assist to teammate Sakin Bolaji to score at Lugogo for Rivers as they lost 2-1 to KCCA back in June 2017.
Beside Rivers United, he has previously played for Ifeanyi Uba, Delta Force, Warri Wolves and Plateau United in West Africa.
Born on February 7, 1996, Odumegwu is a forward who can bully defenders with power and pace. He also has that eye for a killer pass.
He notably scored on his debut for Rivers United against Club African in CAF Confederation cup.
He joins John Revita, Erisa Ssekisambu and Simon Sserunkuma among the new signings at the club and he will carry the scoring burden for the defending UPL champions alongside Sadat Anaku.
The Lugogo based side is also reportedly in talks to bring Bright Stars striker Nelson Ssenkatuka in a bid to reinforce their striking armoury since the departure of Patrick Kaddu.
