Newly promoted Kyetume FC will rely on their veteran players to stun record winners SC Villa in the league opener at Namboole.

This will be their first league game in top flight, an historical feat for the Mukono based side that has walked through the footsteps of the defunct Lufula FC and Kyetume Black Stars.

Kyetume has made some good signings and has also managed to retain some of their key players they had to earn promotion.

“We have had enough preparations, it will not be an easy game, we are still new in the league unlike Villa who are the record winners. They are experienced and we respect that,” coach George Best Nsimbe told the-SportsNation.com.

“We cannot predict how far we can go but our realistic target is to stay in the league this season.

“I have trust in all my players because all footballers are the same, it’s just a matter of motivation and encouragement.”

The match will be a Namboole derby of sorts as both sides will host their league games at the National Stadium.

Nsimbe revealed that his only worry will come from the team’s ability to score goals, which he thinks is also a general problem elsewhere.

“My only worry is scoring goals. We no longer have the big and productive centre forwards we used to have – Majid Musisi and Jimmy Kirunda could score like 40 goals per season.”

Kyetume FC Probable Lineup:

New signing Joel Mutakubwa will start in goal ahead of Martin Otieno and Salim Sowed.

Siraje Turyamuhebwa and Derrick Ochen are expected to be deployed as fullbacks with Sam Ssenkoomi and pairing with Jonathan Dante Mugabi in centre back.

Patrick Ochan will command the midfield with Isaac Kirabira while Vicent Kayizzi and Elkenah Nkugwa will be used at wide positions.

Robert Ssentongo and Noel Nasasira are expected to lead the line in a 4-4-2 system.
