UPL: Ndahiro Out, How SC Villa Could Line up Against Kyetume

SC Villa will target a perfect to this year’s 2019/20 Uganda Premier League season when they face Kyetume FC at Namboole.

The league opener, played on floodlights at 8:00PM, will be televised live on Sanyuka TV courtesy of StarTimes.

Coach Edward Kaziba faces a big challenge to assemble a good team that will have to deliver at all cost in a game that may shape the club’s season.

However, his choice in sepsction may be limited by the fact that some of the players may not be available to play due to licenses, injuries among others.

Deals to sign Abdul Karim Kasule, Kevin Obua, Musa Doca and Owen Kasule might have fallen through while John Adriko has joined Mbarara City FC

Here is probable lineup for SC Villa to face Kyetume FC:


Saidi Keni is all but guaranteed of a place in the posts. The shot stopper has proved reliable in the sticks since joining from Proline FC on loan midway through last season.

His main challenger to the throne for a starting berth is Sam Kivumbi who looked lively and in good conditions during the last training on Wednesday, but he might settle for a place on the bench.


Ibrahim Enock Kibumba who joined from Police FC will start at right back ahead of Hood Kakooza (brother to Godfrey Lwesibawa).

Derrick Ndahiro is out with a cut on the face and a knee injury. Yayo Lutimba will fill the void. The experienced left back joined from SC Vipers.

New captain Asuman Alishe will pair with Moses Kiggundu in the heart of defence ahead of new signing Shaban Wasswa from Paidha Black Angels and Brian Nsubuga.

Emmanuel Wasswa who joined from Ndejje University will start ahead of Lincoln Mukisa. Wasswa will be joined by newcomer Denis Kamanzi in the middle of the park.

Ambrose Kirya and David ‘Colgate’ Owori will be deployed as wide men.

Bashir Mutanda and Charles Lwanga are expected to lead the front line as SC Villa will all go out for the needed victory.

Ronald Magwali will also be in contention to come in anytime when needed while Faisal Muwawu from Kirinya Jinja (Busoga United) has not trained on Wednesday.
