City Oilers beat JKL Dolphins 66-45 to end their regular season on a high going into the playoffs.
The six time defending champions won 66-45 in. a game at Lugogo Indoor Arena that failed to live as advertised.
JKL looked a shadow of themselves from the side that beat Oilers 66-65 in the first round despite having their big man Ivan Lumanyika back from a long layoff.
Oilers led 24-5 in the first quarter and never looked back before sealing their 15th straight win of the season.
Francis Chisioke Azolibe led with a game high 18 points (and 19 rebounds), Landry Ndikumana and Josh Johnson scored 15 and 11 points respectively while James Okello contributed 10 rebounds.
Lumanyika had 17 points for the Dolphins while Brian Namake added 12 points for last year’s semifinalists.
Oilers end the season in second place with 19 wins and three losses. They finished the second round without a loss, with their three defeats – UCU, Warriors and JKL – coming in the first round.
This was JKL’s seventh loss of the season and have managed to displace Betway Power in fourth place on a better head to head.
