*KCCA FC Vs Wakiso Giants – 3PM

KCCA FC will have their title credentials on test when they face newly promoted Wakiso Giants as match day one of the Uganda Premier League continues.

The hosts will be seeking for a positive start if they are to set the right tone for their title defence.

After their title contenders Vipers and URA FC picked maximum points in their respective games, pressure will be on KCCA FC to perform as expected.

However, in Wakiso Giants, they face one of the league’s most organised clubs that has also had an impressive transfer window.

“They (Wakiso) will be one of this season’s teams to watch, they have good players but I think we have enough in our armoury to stop them,” said KCCA FC coach Mike Mutebi on Friday in a press briefing at Lugogo.

“We have had enough preparations, we have had many games and am sure they have sharpened my boys more. They know their responsibility and what is at stake.”

KCCA FC will miss striker Sadat Anaku who is injured while the game also comes too early for midfielders Saddam Juma and Julius Poloto.

Wakiso Giants will front former KCCA FC striker Geoffrey Sserunkuma and Viane Ssekajugo to cause an upset while Tom Masiko who also played for KCCA FC, may be handed his debut since joining from Vipers on loan.

KCCA FC beat Wakiso Giants 2-0 in this year’s FUFA Pilsner Super Eight quarter final game at Wakissha. The Garbage collectors lost in the finals to Vipers but have made it up with a Super Cup win against Proline FC recently.

This will be the first top flight game for the Purple Sharks who are coached by Kefa Kisala.

Kisala, at Express FC, beat Mike Mutebi’s KCCA FC in last season’s first round tie when at Express FC at Wankulukuku.
