Kenyan fighter Joyce Awino has made a bold prediction ahead of her fight with Uganda’s Patricia Apolot.
The duel, kickboxing fight, dubbed ‘The Revelation Night of 1000 Punches’ is set on Saturday at Smiles Corner, Kireka.
This will be a low kick style sanctioned by both Uganda Kickboxing Federation (UKF) and World Kickboxing Federation (WKF). It will be a low kick style of 7 rounds.
This will be a rematch after Apolot won the first fight April in Tororo but the Kenyan has commented that she is now in right shape to go again.
“I will say less,” started Awino in a small voice while speaking before a weigh in of the two fighters held on Friday in Kireka.
“I am here to mean business, I have done enough practice in preparation for this match and I will stop her (Apolot) in the second round.
“I don’t want to know much about her, she was fortunate to win the first round but now is my turn,” added Awino who was speaking while mixing English and Kiswahili.
Awino has had 15 boxing fights but yet to be an established fighter in kickboxing where she has featured in only four. Her loss in kickboxing came against Apolot.
Apolot, commonly known as the ‘Black Pearl’ has 21 professional fights under her belt – She has won 12 by knockout.
“Am at home and I will want to make this advantage count, ” am very ready and in good shape,” briefly said Apolot who talked about displaying all her accolades on Saturday before the fight.
Apolot also commended her sponsors.
The main undercard is between James Owara (Uganda) and Michael Otieno (Kenya), 14 more undercards will be held.
