BUL FC started their 2019/20 Uganda Premier League campaign with a 1-0 victory against Express FC at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

Deogracious Ojok’s strike in the 13th minute proved the difference in a game where the hosts looked the better side.

Ojok tapped in from close range far from goalkeeper Tony Kyamera’s reach after Hamis Tibita had beaten the Express defense.

BUL could have doubled their lead at the half hour mark but Richard Wandyaka, from point blank range, bundled his chance over the bar while midfielder Charles Ssebutinde had his effort rattle the woodwork.

Express FC debutant Frank Kalanda had his goal cancelled by the linesman in 34th minute after a push on BUL goalkeeper Abdul kimera.

The Red Eagles loooles a better aide in the second half after the introduction of Axel Konan and Frank Ssenyondo, the latter shot wide while captain Disan Galiwango fired direct at the keeper.

Beside the loss, George Ssemwogerere will leave Njeru a sad man after his goalkeeper Kyamera was stretchered off hurt before he was replaced by Joshua Dea.
